Associate Therapist Opportunity
Company Description:
Eric Winton Marriage & Family Therapy Inc., DBA Eric Winton Counseling, is a fully remote (telehealth-only), out-of-network Private Practice providing therapy to residents throughout the state of California.
Role Description:
This is a part-time to full-time remote role for an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist.
The prime applicant should be an Associate who is in good standing with the BBS, already has their Associate Number, and has a desire to learn about all aspects involved in developing and maintaining a thriving Private Practice with a possible goal of having their own private practice post-licensure. The Associate Therapist will be responsible for conducting individual, couple, and/or family therapy sessions.
Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Maintaining accurate client records through the practice's EHR system Simple Practice. Experience with SP a plus but not required.
Developing and executing treatment plans
Actively advertising and networking to build their client base
Regular attendance at scheduled supervision, private practice trainings and administrative sessions
The role requires regular communication with supervisor and clients to monitor progress and provide support.
Qualifications:
Skills in conducting individual, couple, group and/or family therapy
Experience in developing treatment plans and therapeutic interventions
Strong record-keeping and documentation skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work independently and remotely
Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or related field
Registered Associate in the state of California
Experience in teletherapy is a plus
Familiarity with Simple Practice electronic health records system a plus
Compensation & Hours:
Base Pay Rate: $20 an hour for Administrative Responsibilities: i.e. Supervision, approved training, and administrative-related commitments such as session notes and approved networking etc.
You will also be compensated at a rate of 30-50% of the fees collected each month for “face to face” direct clients’ therapy sessions as follows:
1. $1 to $1000 total fees collected: Employee earns 30%
2. $1000 to $2000 total fees collected: Employee earns 40%
3. $2000 to $3000 and above total fees collected: Employee earns 50%
Additional compensation and/or assistance for advertising, liability insurance, professional associations, communication and technology expenses and professional development will be included above and beyond the Base Pay and the percentage of fees in a monthly stipend . (Details and descriptions will be provided to candidates in the application process. Additional arrangements may be included upon approval).
Note: Associates’ client session rate TBD collaboratively with supervisor and will be based on experience, education, and areas of focus and/or specialization (Minimum client fee of $110 per hour)
Supervision:
You will receive 1 unit of supervision per week, with an additional units provided If you go over 10 client hours or more (Supervision based on BBS guidelines).
Schedule:
You are welcome (and encouraged) to set your own hours for meeting with clients. Your availability will need to be discussed and approved in advance to ensure smooth operations for both you and the practice. Availability for Supervision will be required (schedule TBD).
Client Load:
I do not require (or support) unrealistic caseload expectations on Associates. Each associate is an individual with unique life circumstances that I believe should be taken into consideration. The only “quota” expected is working to ensure a consistent minimum of 5 clients per week. The maximum will depend on each Associates skill level, experience, preference, etc. TBD and approved with supervisor in advance
(In other words, if an associate wants to cary 30 clients a week, I am not going to immediately say no, but we will have a serious conversation first 😉).
