About Eric Winton Counseling

Compassionate Therapy for Growth, Connection, and Healing

At Eric Winton Counseling, we believe that healing happens through connection, within ourselves, with others, and in the relationships that shape our lives. Founded by Eric Winton, LMFT, our group practice brings together a team of dedicated therapists who share a commitment to providing compassionate, individualized care for adults and couples across the Bay Area.

Our Philosophy

Life can be messy and complex, but therapy doesn’t have to be. Whether you’re seeking support after trauma, navigating relationship challenges, or simply wanting to understand yourself more deeply, our therapists offer a grounded, client-centered approach that blends empathy, authenticity, and evidence-based care.

We see therapy as a collaborative processthat meets you where you are, honors your story, and helps you move toward growth and self-trust at your own pace.

Meet the Founder - Eric Winton, LMFT

As the founder and clinical supervisor of the practice, Eric brings a warm, relational approach rooted in trauma recovery, attachment theory, and mind-body integration. Before becoming a therapist, Eric spent years in pastoral ministry, where he discovered the power of empathy and presence in helping people heal.

Eric’s personal and professional experiences inspired him to build a practice grounded in integrity, inclusion, and genuine human connection. He continues to see a small number of individual and couples clients while mentoring and supervising the associate therapists on his team.

Our Team

Each of our therapists brings unique training, lived experience, and clinical expertise to the practice. Collectively, we specialize in:

  • Trauma-informed care, including Brainspotting, somatic approaches, and Internal Family Systems (IFS).

  • Couples and relationship therapy, including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and attachment-based work.

  • Support for anxiety, depression, and life transitions through mindfulness and acceptance-based models.

While each therapist has a distinct style, all share a common goal: to create a safe, inclusive space for clients to find understanding, courage, and renewal.
